The grandson of a tobacco giant is in Tulsa speaking out against tobacco.
Patrick Reynolds says his grandfather's company, RJ Reynolds, is targeting children. He says nightclubs are also a part of the problem. Reynolds says clubs frequently scan driver licenses for address information and then mail discount coupons for cigarettes to teens.
“That is obscene. They know that 90% of all the smokers got addicted by the age of 19,” said anti-smoking activist Patrick Reynolds. “If they don't get them by 19 they will not get them as customers, they know that.”
The most recent research says 28% of Oklahoma teens smoke.
